PRIVACY
YOUR IMAGES. YOUR CHOICE.
Being photographed is personal, and I believe deciding where those photographs are seen should be just as personal. Whether you work in a sensitive profession, prefer to keep your family life offline, or simply don’t want your photos shared publicly, I’m completely comfortable with that.
There is no expectation that your images need to become part of my portfolio, and there is no additional fee for keeping them private. Before anything is shared, we’ll establish what you’re comfortable with so there are no surprises later.
KEEP IT PRIVATE
If you’d rather keep your session completely private, your images stay between us. They won’t appear on my website, social media, portfolio, or other promotional materials.
Your online gallery will also remain private for you and anyone you choose to share it with. You hired me to create photographs for you—not to create content for me.
SHARE SELECTIVELY
Sometimes it isn’t all or nothing. You may love the idea of having a few photographs featured while wanting the rest of your gallery kept private, and that’s completely fine.
We can decide together which images you’re comfortable having me share. That could mean specific photographs you approve, images where you or your family aren’t easily identifiable, or simply a small selection from the session. Whatever those boundaries look like, I’ll respect them.
SHARE YOUR STORY
If you’re comfortable allowing me to share your photographs, selected images may become part of my portfolio, website, social media, or other places where I showcase my work.
I genuinely appreciate when clients allow me to share what we’ve created together because it helps future clients understand my work and what an experience with me can look like. But your permission is never something I take for granted.
And if your comfort level changes later, just reach out. I’m always happy to have that conversation.
AI + YOUR IMAGES
AI has become part of a lot of the software photographers use, so I think it’s important to be transparent about how I approach it.
I don’t intentionally submit your photographs to generative AI platforms for the purpose of training AI models. Some of the professional software and services I use for editing, storage, galleries, and delivery may include AI-powered tools or automated processing, and those services operate under their own privacy policies and terms.
For me, the important distinction is simple: your photographs aren’t something I’m going to hand over to an AI platform just because I can.
AT THE END OF THE DAY, IT COMES DOWN TO TRUST.
You’re trusting me with photographs of yourself, your family, your career, or an important part of your life. I don’t take that lightly.
Sharing my work is obviously important to me as a photographer, but it isn’t more important than making sure you feel comfortable with what happens to your images after your session. Some of my clients are happy to have their photographs everywhere. Others would rather nobody outside their family ever see them. Both are perfectly fine with me.
We’ll establish what you’re comfortable with, I’ll respect those boundaries, and you can focus on actually enjoying the experience.
They’re your images. You should have a say in where they’re seen.
